Mr.Food is going retail: a new step in the ready to eat food market.

One of the largest manufacturers of ready‑to‑eat food in Russia — Mr.Food, a partner of the Gotovo 2026 conference — plans to open a chain of mini‑markets selling packaged ready‑to‑eat food, coffee and tea.

The format of the new outlets will resemble the “Milty + coffee” concept: buying ready‑to‑eat food to go, plus hot drinks and a few tables for a snack on the spot.

Experts note that entering the retail sector provides manufacturers with important advantages: direct contact with the customer, the ability to quickly test product ranges and prices, brand development, and reduced dependence on retail chains. At the same time, this step requires precise cost management: production and retail are different businesses, and high competition and operating costs make this format particularly sensitive to efficiency.

This is yet another confirmation that the ready‑to‑eat food market is entering a new stage of development. Competition is intensifying not only in terms of product range and quality, but also in how the product is sold, how convenient the customer journey is, and how close the brand is to the customer.
